PNB statement PDF password: format and how to remove it
4 min read · Updated 6 October 2026
Punjab National Bank gives you more than one way to open a statement PDF, so if one is rejected, another usually works. As always, the covering email names the exact format for your account.
The PNB statement password
Passwords are case-sensitive, with no spaces.
- Account number: your full 14 to 16-digit account number.
- Customer ID (CIF): your 9-digit Customer ID.
- Date of birth: on some accounts, your date of birth as DDMMYYYY — for example 15081990.
Where to find your account number and CIF
Your account number is in your passbook, on a cheque leaf, and on the PNB ONE app dashboard. Your CIF (Customer Information File) number is printed on the first page of your passbook and is visible in the PNB ONE app under account details. If you cannot find either, PNB customer care or your branch can confirm them.
Removing the password
- Open Unlock PDF and add the statement.
- Enter your account number, CIF, or date of birth as above.
- Download the unlocked copy — it opens directly afterward and keeps its real text.
The file is decrypted in your browser, so your statement and account details are never uploaded. (Why that is the only safe way for a statement.) Full walkthrough: how to remove a bank statement password. All banks' formats: the password format guide.
Frequently asked questions
What is the password for a PNB statement PDF?
One of three things, depending on your account: your full 14 to 16-digit account number, your 9-digit Customer ID (CIF), or your date of birth as DDMMYYYY. If one is rejected, try another — and the statement email names the exact format.
Where do I find my PNB CIF number?
Your CIF (Customer Information File) number is printed on the first page of your passbook and shown in the PNB ONE app under account details. Branch staff or customer care can confirm it if you cannot find it.
Can I remove the PNB statement password permanently?
Yes. Enter your account number, CIF or date of birth once in the Unlock tool and download an unlocked copy that opens without a password from then on. It is decrypted in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
