Why this works differently
The upload step is the risky part, so we removed it
On most PDF sites your file travels to a server, gets processed there, and comes back. For those seconds your document sits on hardware you don't control. Most services delete it promptly. That still leaves an exposure you never needed to accept — browsers have been able to do this work locally for years.
No queue, because there's nothing to wait for
A 40 MB file on a slow connection takes a couple of minutes to upload and download again. Here it takes as long as your own processor needs, and works the same on a plane with the wifi off.
Free without an asterisk
