Frequently Asked Questions
What format is the output?
A genuine .docx file — the modern Word format. It opens cleanly in Microsoft Word, Google Docs and LibreOffice with no compatibility warning, and the text is fully editable.
How accurate is the conversion?
Text, headings and bold formatting carry across reliably. Exact page layout, tables and images do not — multi-column pages come out as flowing text. That is the honest ceiling of converting from a PDF's text layer; you get a document you can edit, not a pixel replica.
Can it convert a scanned PDF?
No, and it will tell you so rather than producing an empty file. Scanned pages are photographs with no text layer, and recovering words from an image needs OCR, which is heavier processing than runs in a browser.
Is my document uploaded?
No. The PDF is read and the Word file is built entirely inside your browser. You can load the page, disconnect from the internet, and convert anyway.
