ICICI bank statement PDF password: format and how to remove it
4 min read · Updated 6 October 2026
ICICI uses one of the simplest formats of any Indian bank, which is good news: for a standard account statement, the password is just your date of birth.
The ICICI statement password
Passwords are case-sensitive, with no spaces.
- Bank account e-statement: your date of birth as DDMMYYYY — eight digits, no slashes. For 15 August 1991, that is 15081991.
- ICICI credit card statement: the first 4 letters of your name in capitals + DDMM of your date of birth — for example PRIY2308 for Priyanka born on 23 August.
Some salary or corporate accounts registered in a company's name can use a different format — in that case, the covering email names it.
If the date of birth is rejected
Two common reasons: the account may be registered with a date of birth that differs from the one you expect (check what the bank has on record), or you may actually be opening a credit card statement, which uses the name-plus-DDMM format above rather than the plain date.
Removing the password
- Open Unlock PDF and add the statement.
- Enter your date of birth as DDMMYYYY (or the credit-card format).
- Download the unlocked copy, which opens directly from then on and keeps real selectable text.
This all happens in your browser — the statement and your date of birth are never transmitted. For sensitive financial documents that is the only safe way to do it. (Why.) See the full method in how to remove a bank statement password and all banks' formats in the format guide.
Frequently asked questions
What is the password for an ICICI bank statement PDF?
For a standard account statement it is your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format — eight digits with no slashes, for example 15081991. An ICICI credit card statement instead uses the first 4 letters of your name in capitals plus DDMM of your date of birth.
My ICICI date of birth password does not work — why?
Either the account is registered with a different date of birth than you entered, or you are opening a credit card statement, which uses the name-plus-DDMM format rather than the plain date. The statement email states the exact format.
Is unlocking an ICICI statement online safe?
Only if nothing is uploaded. This tool decrypts in your browser, so the statement and your date of birth stay on your device. You can verify it by watching the Network tab or disconnecting from the internet first.
