Axis bank statement PDF password: format and how to remove it

4 min read · Updated 6 October 2026

Axis Bank generates the statement password automatically from your account details — you cannot set your own. There are two formats in circulation, so if one does not work, try the other.

The Axis statement password

Passwords are case-sensitive, with no spaces.

  • Name + date of birth (the long-standing format): the first 4 letters of your name in capitals + DDMM of your date of birth. For Rohan Sharma born on 15 June, that is ROHA1506. If your name is shorter than four letters, use the whole name — Raj born 15 June becomes RAJ1506.
  • Date of birth only (newer e-statements): your date of birth as DDMMYYYY — eight digits, for example 15081990.

The name is taken as it appears on the statement, ignoring spaces and symbols. The covering email states which format your statement uses, and this applies to savings, current, salary, loan and credit card statements alike.

Removing the password

  1. Open Unlock PDF and add the statement.
  2. Enter the password in whichever format works (try name-plus-DDMM first, then DDMMYYYY).
  3. Download the unlocked copy — it opens directly afterward and keeps its real text.

The decryption runs in your browser, so your statement never reaches a server. (Why that matters for a statement.) Full method: how to remove a bank statement password. Every bank's format: the password format guide.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Axis Bank statement PDF password?

Either the first 4 letters of your name in capitals plus DDMM of your date of birth (for example ROHA1506), or your date of birth as DDMMYYYY (for example 15081990) on newer e-statements. The covering email states which one your statement uses.

What if my name has fewer than four letters?

Use the whole name. For Raj born on 15 June, the password becomes RAJ1506. The name is read as it appears on the statement, ignoring any spaces or symbols.

Can I set my own password on an Axis statement?

No — Axis generates it automatically from your account details, so you cannot choose a custom one. You can, however, remove it from your own copy with the Unlock tool, and then re-protect the file with a password you choose if you want one.
